With the CNE, English-speaking workers now have their own union!

Because language should not be a barrier to enforcing your rights at work, the “Centrale Nationale des Employés” now offers a point of contact in English for workers coming from abroad.

Knowing, understanding, and enforcing your rights at work is not always easy. But it is even more difficult when you are working in a foreign country. That is why, in order to help those who struggle to navigate through Belgian legislations, the CNE - which brings together employees and managers affiliated with the CSC - now offers its services in English.

Contact us !

Specifically, the CNE offers its English-speaking members answers to their questions by email within 48 hours.

Whether you have questions about your vacation entitlement, your salary, or the steps to take to change jobs, feel free to write to us at the following address: cne.advice@acv-csc.be! If you have a union team in your company, contact them directly! They will be best placed to help you.

In addition, a French-speaking hotline is also available for bilingual workers. Contact us at +32 (0)67 88 91 00 Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: our colleagues will be happy to help you.

Tools and information

In addition to helping more than 160,000 workers in Brussels and Wallonia, our union also trains and informs them so that they can better defend themselves.

To help you understand your rights more clearly, the CNE frequently publishes articles on specific topics in English (vacationtravel expensesharassment at work, etc.) as well as reflex cards.

Thanks to our reflex cards you will obtain essential information on the steps to take in the event of dismissal, parental leave, harassment, or even an accident at work.

Stop Arizona!

Also, because the CNE promotes values of solidarity, peace, and justice, both in Belgium and around the world, our union is also involved in more political struggles; with just one goal in mind: to defend the rights (wages, pensions, working conditions, etc.) of workers.

In this context, and since the arrival in power of a hard-right national government nicknamed Arizona, our union has been frequently mobilizing to ensure that the social gains of workers are not taken away.
